If you know someone is being abused by their partner, there are several first steps you can take to help:
Let them know you care and that there is help
Let them know violence is not acceptable
Provide information so that they can choose to seek help.
Don't ignore it. If children are involved, legally the abuse must be reported.
If you want to be part of our efforts to provide prevention and intervention in our community, you can help:
Become
part of our volunteer team. Contact us at 463-8700 for many volunteer opportunities.
Educate the community about services. Victims often do not know where to turn for help.
Educate your organization, workplace, church or community agency regarding domestic violence topics.
Request speakers on domestic violence for your organization.
Donate financially. We are a non-profit and our programs and services are dependent upon grants and private donations.
Donate gas cards. Transportation is an essential need in obtaining a healthy lifestyle independent from an abusive situation.
Donate furniture, clothing, food or toys.
Donate toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, trash bags, kleenex, diapers, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, body wash, liquid hand soap, dish soap, shaving cream and razors.
